Information as a strategic and valuable asset for organizations

Organizations, during the development of their activities, generate an important set of data that, after being processed, becomes information and serves senior management for decision making. In this sense, it can be considered that information is a very important strategic asset that allows guaranteeing the continuity of operations in the short, medium and long term (Gallardo-Vázquez & Valdez Juárez, 2022). This makes it necessary to take all measures to guarantee the security and availability of information through the identification of vulnerabilities and threats to correct or minimize them (García Porras et al., 2018).
